Why Give to Hospice?

Hospice is a concept of care, not a place or even one organization. Hospice asserts that when medicine cannot provide a cure, it must offer comfort, care, and compassionate assistance that can make for a better quality of life for the patient and life affirming memories for family and friends. Every one at Hospice at Home is here because of a personal desire to help our neighbors and their loved ones through one of life's most harrowing moments. Your financial gift to Hospice supports vital services for terminally ill patients and those who love them.

Hospice at Home and South Haven Area Hospice were created by volunteers in our communities committed to easing the pain and suffering that accompanies dying with a terminal illness. The Boards of Directors, staff and volunteers continue that commitment to this day. With all of the costs associated with the loss of a loved one, Hospice at Home remains committed to the value that no one should be restricted from access to Hospice care. Hospice at Home provides care to all patients regardless of ability to pay or insurance coverage.

From our modest beginnings more than twenty years ago, much has changed. Hospice at Home is charged with responding to those changes with quality enhancing service changes and development of new programs.

Community financial support of our mission through gifts to our community foundations makes possible dynamic programs that address the changing needs of our communities for end of life care services and bereavement support for all those who grieve.
